How to get started:
The best way to get started is to take a class. You want hands-on, one-on-one training to master this new skill and you can’t get that from just watching a DVD or you-tube clip.
We have training facilities in Albany & East Tamaki, Auckland as well as Whangarei, Tauranaga & Christchurch.
We run a session 4 times a week for individuals or groups of up to 4.
We can travel to you and complete the training in your treatment room.
This option is very popular for salons having all their staff trained at once, or for salons outside of Auckland. (T&C apply)
Our online training sessions are an easy way for those who are unable to travel.
We use either Zoom/FaceTime/Skype for these sessions.
Our educator will be online with you guiding you through the training as if she was in the room with you.
What tools and materials will I receive or need to buy?
We have three starter kit options available.
Talk to your territory manager about the option that will suit you best.
How much money can I make with dermaplaning?
That depends on your market and your product cost, but we assist you in calculating all of that and setting margins, mark up and retail price.
Product Cost based on the brand we use: $12.35 per treatment
Retail Price for a 60 min treatment: $90 to $150
Think of it this way:
Clients love the treatment so your rebooking rate will increase
since they’ll need dermaplaning every 4 weeks.
How many blades will I use for each treatment?
When you are using our new 10R BUTTER BLADES – You will need only ONE blade per treatment. This blade is shaped with a rounded tip, blended stainless & carbon steel with a polymer coating – designed & manufactured specifically FOR dermaplaning.
If you find you’re using multiple blades to complete a single treatment then you are probably using an inferior blade, like the #10 or #14 blade.
Can dermaplaning cause the skin to bleed?
Yes, excessive scraping, nicks, and cuts can cause bleeding. That is why it is very important to have professional training using the correct tool and have hands-on practice before performing this treatment on clients.
