Meet the Founder — Yolandi Jacobs

Industry Educator | Beauty Therapist | Ingredient-Driven Trainer

I’m a qualified beauty therapist with a Diploma in Somatology and hold international accreditations from CIDESCO and ITEC (Diploma in Physiatrics and Aestheticienne), as well as the South African Higher Grade (SAASPH). With over two decades of experience in beauty therapy, education, and business development, my mission is to support New Zealand therapists in delivering results-driven treatments with confidence.

My career began in 2001 at Fancourt Hotel and Country Club Estate, Southern Africa’s premier leisure destination. There, I gained elite training and invaluable client experience working with people from around the world. Soon after, I launched and successfully ran my own salon before relocating to New Zealand in 2008.

In 2009, I joined Global Beauty as Sales Manager for Nimue and OPI, supporting salon growth across the South Island and Auckland. My passion for education led me to complete a Diploma in Adult Education through the Southern Institute of Technology in 2015, and to teach full-time at Elite School of Beauty & Spa.

In 2013, I founded Salon Setup to meet the growing demand for practical, advanced beauty education. Since then, we’ve developed over 15 professional training programs, delivered through classroom sessions, virtual learning, and self-directed online formats—all designed to help beauty professionals succeed in real-world clinic environments.

At Salon Setup, I remain committed to brand-neutral, ingredient-driven, and science-based education that empowers therapists and elevates client outcomes.
