Meet the Founder — Yolandi Jacobs
Industry Educator | Beauty Therapist | Ingredient-Focused Trainer
I am a qualified beauty therapist with a Diploma in Somatology and international accreditations from CIDESCO and ITEC (Diploma in Physiatrics and Aestheticienne), as well as the South African Higher Grade (SAASPH). With more than two decades of experience across clinical practice, education, and business development, my mission is simple: to support New Zealand therapists in delivering safe, effective, and results-driven treatments with confidence.
Where It All Began
My career started in 2001 at the prestigious Fancourt Hotel and Country Club Estate—Southern Africa’s premier luxury destination. Working with clients from around the world shaped my professional standards and laid the foundation for the evidence-based, client-focused approach I teach today.
After Fancourt, I launched and successfully ran my own salon before relocating to New Zealand in 2008 to continue my career and raise my family.
Industry Leadership & Education
In 2009, I joined Global Beauty as the Sales Manager for Nimue and OPI, supporting salons across the South Island and Auckland. My passion for therapist development led me to complete a Diploma in Adult Education (SIT, 2015) and teach full-time at Elite School of Beauty & Spa, where I helped shape the next generation of beauty professionals.
The Birth of Salon Setup
Salon Setup was founded in 2012 to meet the growing need for practical, advanced, and industry-relevant beauty education—training that goes beyond theory and prepares therapists for real-world clinical environments.
Since then, we’ve developed 15+ professional training programs, delivered through:
